Contract negotiations can sometimes have a proclivity to be a fight or produce a divisive environment. However, we found the Interest Based Negotiations performed with the Center’s Chief Negotiator, Teresa Murray, to be antithetical to a battle. Instead, the Interest Based Negotiations were Refreshing. Interest Based Negotiations includes a process of mutual understanding and respect between all parties. Overall, the process was refreshing to see the Center and the Shop Stewards working in concert to achieve a contract – Working together for the greater good!
